Another question I am frequently asked is when should one use trade instead of the auction house. On most servers, the auction house tends to have a lot posted right after peak hours, say 1am server time. Combine this with the fact that a lot of people are just sitting in cities and not really looking to the auction house. This is where trade chat dominates the auction house. Tired players are looking for conversation to take their mind off of sleeping or boredom. If you can sell effectively, trade chat will make a greater profit then the auction house outside of peak hours. A few tips to polish those trading skills might include:

5. at least get 4 characters with these professions. Tailoring/Enchanter; Minning/jewelcrating; Minning/Blacksmithing and Herbalist/alchemist. You can skip blacksmithing and take Minning/herbalist with 1 of your alts. While doing your world quest in argus, try to get all the ores and herbs that you can. Send all the cloth and greens to your tailor character.

Discounts are used when you feel that the seller may be pulling away and you really want to just profit and move on!
I recommend not counting on transmog sells for your monthly gametime. Its a great market, but also pretty random. You have to have the right items posted at the right moment if a player needs a certain item. If this is not the case, of course you will not sell anything to him. There are people making millions of golds a month with transmog. But they are very professional at it and it really takes a lot of time.
I'd say level this toon a bit more, maybe up to 30 or so, and see how you like the experience. If you find questing just a means to an end, maybe the guide would be a good buy. Me, I generally like questing and go to an area I'm interested in, even if it's not the most level-appropriate for me or the best way to maximize my time, so those guides aren't of much interest to me for now.
